From the recording Blows Away
Lawrence Kansas based singer-songwriter Steve Tabor is set to release his first single on Spotify, ‘Let It Rain’, a poignant ballad about grief and redemption on June 21st. An accompanying music video will be released the same day on most major streaming platforms including YouTube.
Steve drew inspiration for ‘Let It Rain’ from the loss of his mother in 2017. The songs first sections invoke sadness and mourning leading to the ending of the song revealing a universal truth, which is we are all connected.
Steve started playing jazz guitar at age 11. He spent the next few decades playing stints with country, rock and blues groups. He has always loved songwriting and exploring new riffs and chording styles. He has an extensive catalogue of songs and is planning to start releasing more new music over the next few months.
“I choose to release this song first because I wrote it shortly after my mom passed. The lyrics and chord structures developed very quickly, and I have always felt this song was a gift.”
Lyrics
Let It Rain (The Passing Song) ©2017
Feel the pain (um) Let it rain (um)
Raining down from above, Let it rain
Down your cheek (um) into your heart (um)
Pouring out deep within, Open up let it begin
Sooner or later you’re bound feel it, The pain deep inside
When true love leaves what’s left to hold onto, to make you feel alive
Musical passage
Falling down (um) Standing up (um)
Don’t really care, feel like giving up, still it rains
Musical passage
Feel everything it’s everywhere
Feel everything it’s everywhere-ere
Feel it rise and fall
Feel it rise and fall
Feel it rise and fall
Feel it rise and fall
Let it Rain, Let it Rain
